Lapland activities for te children and the whole family.

Lapland has many activities on offer and a week’s holiday is not long enough to experience them all, in fact you could stay for a month in Lapland and still have plenty to do.

There are lots of different activities to get involved in and also lots of attractions that you can visit. The Ice hotel is a must for the whole family and you will enjoy the ice bar, ice rooms and Sauna facilities.

The skiing is fantastic and the Ski slopes in Yllas Lapland host all the usual lessons and there is the option to have family lessons and individual lessons. There is a fully functional nursery slope where you can practice to your heart’s content and there are of course the more challenging slopes. The ski slopes also have restaurants and ski shops.

Cross country skiing is another great activity for the whole family and the equipment can be hired for a small fee. The cross country ski tracks are open until quite late and you don’t have to book, meaning you can go cross country skiing whenever you feel like it.

The Husky dog safaris are fantastic and the children will absolutely love this, as well as seeing the Husky dogs and puppies, you can drive the Husky sledge yourself with a sledge for very small children.
The snowmobiles vary enormously in the different trips they offer and for small children the shorter trips are better because they can become very cold. There are also kid’s snowmobiles which offer the children a great opportunity to experience the snowmobiles for themselves. The speed is also restricted on the kid’s snowmobiles which make them completely safe.

Visiting Santa is also a must have and there are various opportunities where you can have a private meeting with him. Santa will visit you at the Lapland Log cabin complete with Elves and Reindeer or you and your family can visits him at Lapp village which is a great experience for the children.

Other popular activities which are ideal for the children are the Reindeer rides, the whole family can sit in the warm sleigh covered in a Reindeer blanket whilst the Reindeer take you on a magical ride around a frozen lake. The snow falls gently and this is the ideal magical moment where you will fall in love with Lapland.
The most important aspect of a Lapland holiday is to pick the activities wisely if you have children, the most important thing is that they enjoy everything they do and there are some trips that are more suitable than others.
