Snowmobile trips in Lapland are one of the most popular winter activities in Lapland and there are many variations in the trips you can take. For smaller children shorter duration trips are always best as children are more likely to become colder quicker.

The trip will begin with a brief talk on how the snowmobiles work and the commands that you will need to follow. The trip will then begin and you will normally be in a group with about ten other people. If small children are involved there is the option to have the sledge which will be pulled on the back of the snowmobile to ensure they are safe and warm.

Architects design the ice hotel a little different every year and there is of course the magnificent ice chapel to explore. Outside is the famous ice sculptures and there is the famous ice bar where you can enjoy drinks in real ice glasses. There are also the ice rooms where you can stay the night if you are brave enough but you may need a sauna to warm you up a little
After exploring the ice hotel the trip will set off once again and return back to the start point. Snowmobile trips go to other attractions and there is the option to hire a snowmobile and go off exploring on your own. Many of the activity centres are more than happy to explain some of the local attractions and the places that are ideal to visit by snowmobile. Along many of the tracks are lots of little bars and places to eat which is great if you are on a long trip. As the light begins to fade you can make your way home through the snowy landscape and have yourselves a well earned drink or two.
